Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City on arrival
Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, you are welcomed at the airport by our guide and then transferred to the hotel. Welcome dinner on the Saigon River cruise.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City (Cu Chi) or My Tho
There are two options: Drive to Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground system covering nearly 250km that provided shelter to over 16,000 locals and communist guerillas during the war or drive south to My Tho in the Mekong Delta, a journey of approximately 2 hours. The Mekong Delta is Vietnam's 'rice bowl'—a  fertile region of flat farmland interlaced with thousands of waterways and tributaries of the Mekong. Take a short boat trip through the Mekong tributaries and a stroll through a local village to see a variety of cottage industries producing goods from local materials, including palm woodcarvings, rice paper, and coconut toffee. Return to Saigon in the afternoon. Rest of the day: free at leisure.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City to Hoi An
Following breakfast, partake in a half-day city tour of dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals, which includes Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, and the War Museum, where we can view the displays and photographs during the Vietnam War in the 1970s. Photo stop at the Reunification Palace, the democratic regime of former South Vietnam. Enjoy shopping at Ben Thanh Market. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, transfer to a hotel in Hoi An, where you will spend two nights.

Day 4: Free day in Hoi An
A day at leisure for you to wander the many tailor shops or, for early risers, join the optional morning cookery class at Red Bridge Cooking School. Begin with a visit to the colorful market to purchase your ingredients, followed by a short cruise to the cooking school, where a two-hour lesson follows. Choose an optional afternoon tour to the UNESCO-listed Cham ruins of My Son.

Day 5: Hoi An-Hue
This morning, take a walking tour through the narrow, winding streets of the Ancient Quarter, visiting Phuc Kien Temple, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year-old Tan Ky ancestral house, the Japanese-covered bridge, and the colorful local markets. Lunch is followed by a short stop at the Cham Museum before continuing your scenic journey to Hue. En route, see charming villages and fruit orchards and enjoy splendid sea views. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 6: Hue-Dong Hoi
Today, take a dragon boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River to visit Hue’s best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda, and the mausoleum of former Emperor Khai Dinh. Afternoon: visit the Imperial Citadel, from where the Nguyen dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, then drive north following the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which acted as the north-south supply route during the Vietnam War, towards Dong Hoi.

Day 7: Phong Nha Cave, Hue
Visit the UNESCO-listed Phong Nha Cave, the largest and most beautiful cave in Vietnam. It’s remarkable for its thousands of meters of underground passageways and river caves filled with abundant stalactites and stalagmites. Return to Hue in the afternoon. Tonight, enjoy a royal-style dinner.

Day 8: Hue-Ha Noi
Morning, take a flight to Hanoi, the unique city of tree-lined Boulevard, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes, and oriental temples. Visit the Ethnology Museum, then take a tour of Hanoi's Old Quarter by Cyclo.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. Overnight stays in Hanoi.

Day 9: Ha Noi-Halong
Depart Hanoi for Ha Long Bay and drive past some of the beautiful rural landscape before arriving at the World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay in the afternoon. Upon arrival in Ha Long Bay, board the deluxe Junk Cruise. Enjoy welcome drinks and lunch with freshly caught seafood served on board. The junk will sail, passing amazing-shaped mountains. Stop to visit Sung Sot Cave. Then we sail to Ti Top Beach and Mountain, where we can go for a swim or explore approximately 400 steps to the top of the mountain to take beautiful panorama pictures of Ha Long Bay and view the sunset. Overnight on board

Day 10: Ha Long-Ninh Binh
Early morning view of the bay’s landscape. Experience the breathtaking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the bay before taking a small boat to visit Hang Luon. There will be free time for swimming before returning to the harbor. Check out and have an early lunch before continuing our journey to Ninh Binh.

Day 11: Ancient Citadel, Trang An, Hanoi (Train to Lao Cai)
Morning depart for Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam, where you will have a chance to explore the temples of Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh, then go ahead to Trang An with the huge rock formations jutting out of the rice paddies. Enjoy a peaceful tour of the remarkable caves at the Trang An ecological tourist site. The limestone, valleys, and rivers gather together, constituting a mysterious and amazing scene. You will visit 11 caves with stalactites of all shapes and colors by taking the rowing boat, or you can try rowing by yourself. Return Hanoi. Tonight, board the night train to Lao Cai.

Day 12: Lao Cai-Sapa
Wake up early and marvel at the remarkable scenery as you roll into Lao Cai, which borders China to the north. On arrival, transfer to the hotel for breakfast before exploring this scenic and cultural area. Visit Sapa’s market to see traders selling their wares, journey to the top of Ham Rong Mountain, and marvel at the scenic panorama from this hilltop location. Visit a local village to gain insight into the life and culture of these unique hill tribes. Return to your hotel in the afternoon for one night.

Day 13: Sapa to Hanoi
Enjoy a day of trekking through local villages, departing after breakfast for Lao Chai village, home to the Black H’mong Tribe, and then on to Ta Van, the only village of the Giay minority. After lunch, continue your walk through bamboo forests to Giang Ta Chai, visiting a Red Dao minority village. Return to your Sapa hotel to freshen up and transfer to Lao Cai for your overnight train journey back to Hanoi.

Day 14: Ha Noi-Duong Lam Ancient Village
Arrive in Hanoi early in the morning, take a rest, and have breakfast, then overland to Duong Lam ancient village in Son Tay Town (60km to the west of Hanoi Capital), which has a history of about 1,200 years with many houses dating back up to 400 years. The place is also recognized as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information. Upon arrival, walk along the ancient alleys to visit the Mong Phu communal house in Mong Phu hamlet, the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact and is dedicated to national heroes. Continue walking around the village to discover Vietnamese peasants' daily life and farming work along the terrace, with a stop at two ancient houses built 200–400 years ago. Return Hanoi. The rest of the day is free for leisure.
