Day 1: Ha Noi on arrival
Upon arrival in Hanoi, you are welcomed at the airport by our guide and then transferred to the hotel. Tonight, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show after dinner. Overnight stays in Hanoi.

Day 2: Ha Noi-Ha Long
Depart Hanoi for Ha Long Bay and drive past some of the beautiful rural landscape before arriving at the World Heritage Site of Ha Long Bay in the afternoon. Upon arrival in Ha Long Bay, board the deluxe Junk Cruise. Enjoy welcome drinks and lunch with freshly caught seafood served on board. The junk will sail, passing amazing-shaped mountains. Stop to visit Sung Sot Cave. Then we sail to Ti Top Beach and Mountain, where we can go for a swim or explore approximately 400 steps to the top of the mountain to take beautiful panorama pictures of Ha Long Bay and view the sunset. Overnight on board

Day 3: Ha Long, Ha Noi, and Lao Cai
Early morning view of the bay’s landscape. Experience the breathtaking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the crystal-clear water of the bay before taking a small boat to visit Hang Luon. There will be free time for swimming before returning to the harbor. Check out and have an early lunch before driving back to Hanoi. Visit Dong Trieu Pottery Village on the way. Tonight, board the night train to Lao Cai.

Day 4: Lao Cai-Sapa
Wake up early and marvel at the remarkable scenery as you roll into Lao Cai, which borders China to the north. On arrival, transfer to the hotel for breakfast before exploring this scenic and cultural area. Visit Sapa’s market to see traders selling their wares, journey to the top of Ham Rong Mountain, and marvel at the scenic panorama from this hilltop location. Visit a local village to gain insight into the life and culture of these unique hill tribes. Return to your hotel in the afternoon for one night.

Day 5: Sapa to Hanoi
Enjoy a day of trekking through local villages, departing after breakfast for Lao Chai village, home to the Black H’mong Tribe, and then on to Ta Van, the only village of the Giay minority. After lunch, continue your walk through bamboo forests to Giang Ta Chai, visiting a Red Dao minority village. Return to your Sapa hotel to freshen up and transfer to Lao Cai for your overnight train journey back to Hanoi.

Day 6: Hanoi-Hue
Morning visit the main sights of Hanoi, including Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum (opened from December to September on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and at weekends) and his living complex, One Pillar Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh Museum, and The Temple of Literature. Take an afternoon flight to Hue. Rest of the day: enjoy free leisure time.

Day 7: Hue
Today, take a dragon boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River, which visits Hue’s best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda, and the mausoleum of former Emperor Minh Mang in a tranquil setting of gardens and lakes. In the afternoon, visit the elaborate mausoleums of Emperor Tu Duc and Khai Dinh and the Imperial Citadel, from which the Nguyen dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Tonight, enjoy a royal-style dinner.

Day 8: Hue, Danang, and Hoi An
Leave Hue for Hoi An via the Hai Van Pass. This scenic journey passes pretty villages and fruit orchards as you hug the coastline on your journey to UNESCO World Heritage-listed Hoi An. Stop by Danang and visit the Cham Museum; take a stroll on Non-Nuoc Beach, where the Americans first landed back in 1965; and visit Marble Mountain.
The rest of the day is free for leisure. Choose to visit many tailor or handicraft shops or relax on the beach just outside town. Alternatively, join a popular cooking class.

Day 9: Hoi An, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City
Walking tour through the narrow, winding streets of the Ancient Quarter, visiting Phuc Kien Temple, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year-old Tan Ky ancestral house, the Japanese-covered bridge, and the colorful local markets. Board an afternoon flight to Saigon.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City-Cu Chi City Tour
Drive to Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground system covering nearly 250km, was shelter to over 16,000 locals and communist guerillas during the war. Return to the city for lunch. Afternoon: The city tour of dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals, includes Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, and the War Museum, where we can view the displays and photographs during the Vietnam War in the 1970s. Photo stop at the Reunification Palace, the democratic regime of former South Vietnam. Afternoon: Enjoy shopping at Ben Thanh Market.

Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City-Vinh Long-Ho Chi Minh City
Morning drives overland to Cai Be, in the heart of the Mekong Delta. On arrival in Cai Be, board a sampan boat to visit the Cai Be floating market and experience how local people exchange goods, fruits, and many other commodities. Continue to Vinh Long through small canals. Enjoy lunch with fresh food in the heat of the fruit garden. Visit an old colonial house and a rice corn factory. Late afternoon drive back to Saigon.

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City—Departure
